Why do I go through life on my own path - without God?
​
We have long since abandoned our Creator and no longer ask for Him. We're doing well and we don't need God anymore.
You only have I known of all the families of the earth.
Amos 3,2a

Why did we just abandon God?
​
This happened not only to us, but also to Israel, the people of God who were called by Abraham. ​ Israel should have been a light and an example to the whole world.
​
Jahweh speaks:
“For he who touches you
touches the apple of my eye.”
Zechariah 2,8
​
What has God done for his people Israel?
​
God gave commandments for righteous living through Moses and made Israel a mighty people through King David and King Solomon.
Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.
Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and cry to her that her warfare is ended,
that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received from the LORD'S hand
double for all her sins.
Isaiah 40,1-2
Why did this mighty nation of Israel fall?

Israel moved away from their God, went their own way and made their own gods. God's protection was gone and as a result they were expelled from the land God gave them in all directions.
​
He who scattered Israel will gather him, and will keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.
Jeremiah 31.10
